Louisville Loop Segment to Close For One Month due to MSD project.

An 0.8-mile segment of the Louisville Loop bicycle and pedestrian trail in Southwest Louisville will be closed to users from August 31 to September 25 due to some work at the Metropolitan Sewer District’s Bells Lane facility.

The Loop will be closed from Algonquin Parkway south to Camp Ground Road during construction.

The alternate route will travel over 35th Street, Old Miller’s Lane and Miller’s Lane. Signs will be posted at each end of the closed segment as well as along the 1.8-mile detour route. The map is attached.

Ebenezer Church Road and Hebron Church Road bridges over I-65 being replaced. WHAS 11, June 29, 2015:

Both bridges will remain closed for up to 120 days while contracted crews demolish and replace the 4-span continuous composite steel beam structures that were build in the late 1950s, leaving only bridge piers in place.

The 214-foot Hebron Church Road bridge is located in Monroe Township at the Clark State Forest, 1.27 miles north of State Road 160.

The 233-foot Ebenezer Church Road bridge is located in Union Township, 4.46 miles south of S.R. 160.

Old Vincennes Road will be closed from late April to November, 2015 for road reconstruction (making rides from FCHS something to consider putting on hold). Courier-Journal, Feb. 6, 2015:

One of the most heavily trafficked routes to Floyd Central High School will be closed for several months to allow the reconstruction of the intersection of Old Vincennes and Luther Roads. The $4 million project will probably close the road in late April, officials said, and it will likely remain closed until November, according to Director of Floyd County Operations and Planner Don Lopp. "We haven't got the final dates yet," he said.

Old Vincennes Road is one of three routes to the high school and the neighboring Highland Hills Middle School.... The two schools are the largest traffic generators on that section of road, according to Lopp. He said officials will look at all options for rerouting school and bus traffic for the remainder of this school year and the beginning of the next.

The closure is the final part of Phase 2 of an overhaul of Old Vincennes Road. Phase 1, completed more than 10 years ago, included the widening of the road and the addition of shoulders near the high school. The initial piece of Phase 2 occurred last year with the relocation of utilities. In this final piece, the current three-way stop at the intersection of Old Vincennes and Luther will become a four-way stop and a dip near the intersection will be leveled, improving safety and sight lines.
